Originally released in 1958 and recorded over five intimate sessions between 1956 and 1957, All Or Nothing At All finds Billie Holiday late in her career but delivering some of her most emotionally rich and deeply felt performances.
While critics once questioned her vocal condition at this time, none other than Miles Davis praised her interpretive power and nuance, calling it her period of “deepest understanding and control.”
Featuring timeless standards by Irving Berlin, Duke Ellington, George Gershwin, and more, Holiday is joined by an exceptional supporting cast including Ben Webster on tenor sax, Barney Kessel on guitar, Harry "Sweets" Edison on
trumpet, and Jimmy Rowles on piano.
