Needless to say, the music scene in the sixties\r\n  Lancaster, CA garage rock scene inevitably takes in Frank\r\n  Zappa, probably the Captain's main 'rival' [if there could be\r\n  such a thing], even though the ground breaking Trout Mask\r\n  came out on Zappa's own Straight label and it was him giving\r\n  Beefheart the freedom to make the album he wanted to that\r\n  made Trout Mask the classic it is.
