Recorded at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in 1982 to celebrate the  life and music of Cornelius Cardew who, sadly died, the  previous year. Cardew was an English experimental music  composer, and founder (with Howard Skempton and Michael  Parsons) of the Scratch Orchestra, an experimental  performing ensemble. Such was Cardews position in music the  performers read like a who's who of experimental music  [Gavin Bryars, Michael Nyman, David Bedford].
