Well  known and a personal friend of many of the starsthat she collected  autographs from, she had unprecedented access to backstage areas  and VIP Events that enabled her to amass a vast collection of  autographs with consequent impeccable provenance. For many years Yuki's husband Colin, was Eric Clapton's assistant tour manager, working on many of his 1980s concerts \u0026amp; tours. On August 26th 1990, Clapton played the Alpine Valley Music Theatre, Wisconsin, alongside Stevie Ray Vaughan \u0026amp; Double Trouble, Robert Cray and Buddy Guy. Following the show Colin Smythe, along with Clapton's agent Bobby Brooks, his bodyguard Nigel Browne and Stevie Ray Vaughan boarded a helicopter bound for Chicago. Tragically, the helicopter crashed shortly after take-off, killing all on board. Yuki was friends with many artists from that era and continued to attend gigs and fill her numerous autograph books.
