In 1973, following the chart-topping success of Aloha From Hawaii Via Satellite, Elvis Presley turned his focus to the studio, choosing the legendary Stax facility in Memphis for a series of sessions in July and December. Traditionally reserved for Stax's own roster, the studio opened its doors to the King, who recorded a wealth of material including hits such as "It's Midnight" and his powerful rendition of Chuck Berry's "Promised Land." This compilation distils the very best of those Stax recordings across two LPs, remastered from the original master tapes and including newly mixed outtakes. Presented in a deluxe linen-laminated gatefold sleeve, individually numbered and limited to 2,500 copies worldwide. Recommended)
