Although Stealers Wheel's lifespan was brief, the Scottish folk rock group left an outsized mark on early 1970s pop, anchored by the enduring success of Stuck In The Middle With You. Central to the band's identity was Gerry Rafferty, whose melodic sensibility and songwriting clarity would later fuel one of the most successful solo careers of the decade. Following the band's dissolution in 1975, Rafferty emerged as a major solo artist, scoring international hits with Baker Street, Right Down The Line, Night Owl and Get It Right Next Time. His 1978 album City to City reached No. 1 in the US and No. 6 in the UK, cementing his reputation as a songwriter of lasting appeal. This Collected series 2-LP set brings both chapters together across four sides.
