JACK HAMMER Brave New World (Super Rare Mod/Beat 1966 UK 12-track mono LP, the one & only pressing of this album by the American, Earl Solomon Burroughs. Earl was one-time room-mate to Jimi Hendrix when they shared a flat in London & is perhaps better known for co-writing "Great Balls Of Fire" (he also penned the belting Mod/Beat single 'Swim'). Brave New World tackles all kinds of subjects ranging from the Ku Klux Klan, religion, teenage crime (even lesbianism from a male perspective!) & was recorded with a crack team of British jazzers including Kenny Wheeler. In amongst all this are two brilliant Northern Soul style tunes, Switch Blade Operator & the wonderful Down In The Subway, later covered by Soft Cell. The front laminated picture sleeve is Excellent with some light age discolouring to the back panel, no tears or writing and only light edge wear. The labels are very clean with only light spindle marks whilst the vinyl is super clean with just faint evidence of play)
