MARIA CALLAS The Callas Carmen (Very Rare 1964 UK first issue STEREO 3LP set, the luxury padded red box issue with gold labels, produced in a limited run, [a standard 1st year SAN also exists, the D in SDAN is for Deluxe]. Maria is joined by Nicolai Gedda, Andrea Guoit, Robert Massard, Nadine Sautereau with the Orchestre Du Theatre National De L'Opera and Choeurs D'Enfants Jean Pesneaud conducted by Georges Pretre. This comes wth the three booklets - The Bizet Carmen, The Merimee Carmen and the larger The Callas Carmen, with fascinating essays/commentary, libretti and rare photos. The outer box shows light shelfwear with a few corner splits, whilst the contents are a lovely Near Mint - a true jewel of any serious Callas collection! SDAN143-5)
