A beautifully melodic and conceptually rich work, Smallcreep’s Day finds Rutherford exploring themes of industrial life and self-discovery through a seamless blend of progressive rock textures and accessible songcraft. Featuring guest appearances from fellow Genesis alumnus Anthony Phillips and Noel McCalla on vocals and some stella drumming duties from Simon Phillips, the album moves gracefully from the sweeping, cinematic title suite to the radio-friendly gems Working In Line and Time And Time Again. The sleeve shows minimal shelfwear and the vinyl remains in near ‘as new’ condition — a lovely copy of this much-admired Genesis solo project. (CAS 1149)
