TRACKLISTING AND EXTRA INFORMATION
The Labels
After the first two pressings on the now legendary black and gold Parlophone label, this third pressing was on the black and yellow Parlophone design. The Parlophone logo is in striking yellow with all other text in silver on a black background.
The perimeter text on the label reads "The Parlophone Co Ltd." yet it omits the "Recording first published" and "Sold In The Uk Subject To..." text.
This copy has the KT tax code is clearly visible on either side of the spindle hole on Side 1.
The matrix numbers are machine stamed into the dead vinyl. They both end -1 indicating that this one was among the first pressed on this third run. They are as follows
Side One - YEX 94-1
Side Two - YEX 95-1
The vinyl shows a smattering of hairlines and light marks, but nothing particularly severe with a little wear around the spindle hole, leaving it a nice VG+ copy.
Complete with "Use Emitex" poly lined inner bag.
The front laminated flipback sleeve is the E J Day design as opposed to the later Garrod & Lofthouse design.
The front of the sleeve has a large 'stereo' logo in the top right hand corner. It has crisp, clean laminate. The Angus Mcbean photo has rich vivid colours. There is a little wear to the the bottom flipback on the reverse with a small section of it missing.
This record is now fifty five years old and the first we've seen in similar condition in well over 12.
It is in stereo which many stores did not carry in stock and had to be specially ordered as there were far more mono copies manufactured.
It is the debut album of the biggest band in history.
Most copies of these originals were played excessively at parties and badly scratched.
